For a few years now I've been really watching what I eat, trying to avoid processed foods and things with artificial colors, flavors and preservatives like Sodium Benzoate. There are a lot of reasons: a problem with skin rashes, reading books like The Omnivore's Dilemma and Holy Cow.
But honestly, once I read a few labels I was convinced.

Measuring progress on a Monday
I feel like I've been busy all day today, but I've accomplished nothing.
Well, I took a shower. And I collected today's egg (thank you, Mrs. Wiggins).
And I updated the chicken and dog blogs.
But as far as legitimate work? I posted one thing at Beliefnet about Danny Gokey's new eyeglasses endorsement deal for Wisconsin Vision.
Then I ate four cookies.
I guess for a Monday, that's enough. I need a nap.

Stranded?
I'm stranded for the next two weeks.
I let my daughter borrow my car, because she was going to be without her car. And let's face it. I can easily go two weeks and not go anywhere.
I don't need my car. Honest. If it was here, it would be sitting in the driveway. Except that now that I don't have it, I'm thinking of all of the places I want to go. Places I wouldn't go if the car was here.
I should write. I have a lot of work to do. But the dogs are antsy and the chickens are laying eggs and there are so many distractions that I can't get my mind around a story right now.
So I guess I'll go outside and play kickball with Scout and Bandit. Then eat lunch and take a nap. Another perfect day in writing land!
