The irony of really direct mail

I was sitting here today working on an article, and I got up to make a cup of tea. It's summer, I have all the windows open and the side door is open to the screen.

Walking to the kitchen I noticed that someone had stuck a piece of paper in the screen door, between the door and the doorjam. They had to open the door to do that, and I never heard the door open and the dog never barked (which isn't surprising since all she really does now is sleep).

Anyway the paper? It was a sales pitch from, ironically enough, a firm offering home security systems.
